Dear WCTA Members,
As a Board, it has always been our goal to continually improve the value and services provided for every WCTA member.
One area of particular focus has been to better serve the association's communication and information needs.
After researching possible approaches to addressing these needs, it was decided to seek out a partner in the production of our official publication, ‘The Turf Line News’.
After a year-long plus review process, we are pleased to announce that the Western Canada Turfgrass Association has decided to partner with Inside Golf Inc (iG).
Inside Golf, publishers of the western Canada focused Inside Golf magazine and www.insidegolf.ca, brings a 20-year expertise in marketing, graphic design, production and distribution... both in print and online.
Further we were extremely impressed with iG’s business approach in discussing the synergies possible in this relationship.
Based out of Duncan, BC, iG is small enough that we will retain our intimate feel but large enough to take advantage of economies of scale that we just can’t achieve doing the magazine in-house.
Aside from the management of the magazine, Inside Golf has tremendous strength in website development and management.
Therefore a major part of this partnership will be the development of our website into a primary means of providing current news, information and technical information.
This will allow the transition of the print magazine to having more in-depth features while at the same time maintaining the content and feel that has defined The Turf Line for the past four decades.
Jerry Rousseau, WCTA Executive Director will continue as editor and the WCTA retains complete control over content.
The transition begins with an initial re-design of the upcoming October/November edition, the launch of the new website in early December and a launch of our new magazine format in January as the ‘Conference issue’.
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I hope all WCTA members will recognize and take advantage of these resources as they become available.
